Description

The Fractionation Train Unit is used in gas processing and NGL recovery facilities to separate mixed natural gas liquids (NGLs) into individual hydrocarbon products such as ethane, propane, butane, and natural gasoline (C₅⁺). Following NGL recovery, the liquid feed enters a series of distillation columns typically a de-ethanizer, de-propanizer, and de-butanizer where components are separated based on differences in boiling points. Each column operates at controlled pressure and temperature conditions to produce specification-grade products for petrochemical feedstock, LPG, blending, or export. Proper monitoring and control of composition, temperature, and pressure are essential to ensure product purity, maximize recovery, and maintain stable and efficient operation of the fractionation system.
